The fog settled over the city, and one by one, the lights went out.

I watched the stream turn into a waterfall, and then the water began to rise.

I knew my life would never be the same again.

I was convinced it was only the shadows playing tricks on me. But then the statue began to speak.

The only question was whether or not she had the nerve.

The sun shone on as though her life hadn’t just crumbled before her eyes.

As the ocean rushed up to greet him, he realised he had never seen water so blue.

A crippling feeling gripped him in the very pit of his stomach.
